The long-awaited Mamarazzi Workshops!! – Learn how to photograph your children & love it!

November 13th, 2010 | Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan, Workshops

As a slightly photo obsessed mother, I know how important it is to have great photos of your family and loved ones. I can’t begin to describe the joy & pleasure I got from wading through 12 years of my daughter’s photos for her Bat Mitzvah slide show and finding that every image I chose was an image I was proud to show!

Taking your children and family to a professional photographer a few times a year is an incredibly important way to document your family’s milestones, but as a mother to small children who are changing almost on a weekly basis, you need a way to fill the gaps between photography sessions.

I have developed this workshop for mothers who feel the same way i do about capturing our children’s fleeting childhoods on camera. If you want to know how to take better pictures of your baby, children and family in between professional photo shoots, this is the workshop for you. In this two hour workshop, I will teach you how to transform your average snapshots into amazing images you and your family will cherish!

Leave me a comment at the bottom of this post if you are interested in hearing more. Feel free to forward this link to your family & friends!

Hi I would love to do this course. Please email me the details. I work until 5pm every day so it would need to be an evening course, if that is what you do. I also have a new camera which I need a little help feeling my way around.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Bees & Bats and Snakes..oh my!!!

October 24th, 2010 | Children, Families, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

We had planned this session for many months and were very excited that the date had finally arrived. Michal had deliberated over the family’s wardrobe and everyone was dressed and beautifully coordinated. All that was left was to find a great location with plenty of greenery and place for the kids to run around and have fun. First stop, Park Canada. Not very much green but we decide to compromise….until the bees arrived. I have to say, I was trying to be brave but i am PETRIFIED of bees! There was no way we could carry on because Michal smells way too good and the bees were all over her :)
Not feeling pressured by time or anything but this had now eaten up about 30 mins of our session time and we had to find a new location FAST!
We ended up in the most perfect strip of green just outside of Ramat Beit Shemesh, with plenty of trees for shade and the green that Michal so wanted in her images. (We’ll just gloss over the dead bat and the snake part…)
As the sun started to set it created the most dreamy halos of light and we ended up with some of my fave images of all time. And we all lived happily ever after
The End

Holiday Beach session

October 17th, 2010 | Beach, Children, Families, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

Ok so i’m not the fastest blogger in the world, but i get there in the end. This August beach session was great – met up with old friends from England that I havent seen for many many years. Starting to feel a tad old that i can now say things to people like “I havent seen you for 15 years”

I was warned beforehand that getting a photo of the 3 of them together was going to be a challenge, as was getting them all to co operate and generally stay still. Well, i love a challenge, and who says they need to stay still?! :)

Delicious kids, lots of fun and sooooo good to catch up with old friends after all these years and see them all as a family, very special. I love my job.

Chanukah Special Offer! Mini Sessions November 14th-16th

October 10th, 2010 | Mini Sessions, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan, Special Offers

It’s the offer that everyone’s been waiting for! Special for Chanukah! 25 minute mini sessions at a bargain price!

‘Minis’ cost 600 NIS. The sessions will run across 3 days (November 14th-16th) and will be scheduled in 3 different locations – Park Raanana, urban location and Herzeliya beach (weather permitting)
Mini sessions last 25 minutes and are ideal for smaller families or updated portraits of the kids – perfect for getting the latest family picture to send to friends and family!

We can usually take quite a lot of shots in that time frame and will aim to get a good mix of posed and natural looking shots.

The Mini Session is a perfect fit for :

- those who recently had a full session and would like to have a shortened session to create up to date images to send to friends & family for Chanukah.
- marking an event or milestone such as a birthday.
- enjoying a few Mummy and Me or Daddy and Me photos.
- creating a few special images to remember your children as they are now.
- trying out Sarah Raanan Photography but not needing the full session at the moment.

Due to time restrictions, The Mini Session is not recommended for babies who are not yet sitting unassisted or for larger families. Mini sessions are designed for 4 people or less. If you have a larger family, we recommend you book a regular full hour session so we can accomplish all the different shots typically needed for larger families

Sessions are booked on a first come, first serve basis. All bookings do require a 50% non refundable deposit to reserve your spot.

The session will include three (3) digital images of your choice that we will email to you after you choose it from your online proof gallery. They will be sized for printing up to 5×7″ The session also includes free entry into a prize draw to win your favourite session image on a canvas, and 20% off all additional products, including extra digital files.

Mini Session spots are limited, so please contact Sarah soon for details and booking info.

My Glamour Girls

September 2nd, 2010 | Bat Mitzvah, Children, Families, Portraiture

Ok, not sure how on earth this slipped through the net but I was just about to get started on a new blog post when i suddenly realised that I hadnt blogged one of my fave sessions from way back in May!
One man, so blessed with 5 beautiful women! Leaves me wondering what his secret is to surviving all those female hormones ;) ….
Until very recently, we were neighbours and thankfully we are all still good friends. We were so lucky to fall upon such good neighbours when we first arrived here and now that we have moved, we will really miss seeing them every day & popping across the road barefoot to borrow onions, sugar, and various other random items!
Anyway, we got together to take some post Bat Mitzvah images of Adina and all the family, after all the excitement of the day had calmed down a little. I have (as usual) so many favourite images that these really dont do it justice. Maybe i’ll post a slideshow here in a few days so you can see all the images!
I loved photographing them all, they are all so gorgeous and so unique. I will be grabbing the older two for some very funky, grungy modeling sessions soon so keep a look out!
