Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air…

January 24th, 2010 | Beach, Children, Families, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

So, my first beach session in Israel! I was so excited for this one, lots of fun stuff planned (too much actually and not enough time!)

I went down to the beach to check out the area a few hours before we were due to meet. I was greeted by what looked like fog, only it was 23℃ outside, so why on earth would there be fog!? Anyway, never mind that, how on earth was i meant to get my images of the children frolicking on the beach with a thick mist surrounding the whole beach area! I grabbed some poor, innocent bystander next to me and ask ed him what on earth it was, what it thought it was doing appearing on the day i had a shoot scheduled, and when it was planning on disappearing! This very kind man assured me that it was some kind of weird mist from the sea  & that it would all be cleared up as soon as the sun was out for a few hours.

Thankfully he was spot on, and by the time we got down to the beach, the weather was just great! The kids were really fabulous – we spent 2 hours on the beach and they only really collapsed at sunset :) And look what we got….

You really managed to capture the natural smiles on these little ones!

Do you also do albums? With scrap-booking framing like in the ‘cartwheels’ picture above?

Surprise for daddy!

This session was very special! It was my first booking in Israel and it was also a surprise for the daddy’s birthday. I don’t think i have ever come across two such gorgeous, cooperative children!

I am so used to running around a park/back garden/studio, chasing after the kids to get my shots. These two just stayed still and did everything I ask of them. Totally threw me.

I asked their mummy what the secret is and she promised that she’s going to let me know ;)

I found these great ‘iced cookies’ in the shape of letters & numbers, and i bought the numbers 4 & 0 (daddy’s age, secret’s out now). Turns out there was no cookie, just icing….

Thought mum was going to kill me but she was very cool about the whole extreme food coloring and sugar rush situation…
