Gorgeous Girlies

May 10th, 2010 | Children, Families, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

So, if you remember, back in October I ran a competition to fill in an on-line survey and be entered into a prize draw to win a 450 NIS credit towards a family session. The lucky winner, Sabrina, was announced here and we finally got together for our session a couple of weeks ago.

Thank gd I am so busy with work at the moment that I was considering neglecting my blog for a while longer, but I couldnt let another day go by without blogging about these special women.

Sabrina and I met on September 1st, on our daughters’ first day at Gan. I took this photo with my phone on day 1, when it was time to come pick them up.

Mils&Stef1

Instant bonding…

From the moment i met her, I was struck by how real and warm Sabrina is and how naturally beautiful too but I will get killed for saying that in public so i’ll leave it out :) So, it will come as no surprise that PPP she has 3 gorgeous, free spirited girls. And that I was so so excited when I drew her name in the prize draw

I always say that selecting images for my blog and Facebook is a hard task, so I wont repeat myself this time. I had such fun with them on the beach, they were amazing to work with (if you can call frolicking on the beach with 3 gorgeous girls ‘work’!)

I am so excited to see these images up in their new house! Thanks so much girlies for such an unforgettable session!

Well….. I know how gorgeous and totally different each of Sabrina’s babies are, but I think these photos have captured both the spirit and essence of each of them in a totally unique way that is deserving of their individual characters.
I live in Norfolk (UK) and if you were ever to visit the UK, I would be very happy to commission you to photograph my daughter.
The quality and presentation is second to none 

Bat Mitzvah Session in the Park

April 21st, 2010 | Bat Mitzvah, Families, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

I have been looking forward to this session for a while. I just knew it was going to be a lot of fun! Miss L is turning 12 and will be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah in a few weeks, so we all met up early one morning in park Raanana for an extended family photo session. It’s always really special to see how the children interact with each other, and with their grandparents and great grandparents! And look how well they co-ordinated their clothing is without looking all cutsie matchy :)

“Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet….”

March 30th, 2010 | Families, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

Wow. what a session! It wasn’t easy choosing guys!! In just an hour, we captured so many great images and had so much fun doing it! Even Samson the dog was striking a pose by the end of it!

1003_Clements March 2010_297bnw

I really enjoyed meeting family C and observing the family dynamics. Four gorgeous children, all very close in age and very much a close unit. They have so much fun together. They are all very different personalities but each one of them was so friendly and open with me.

1003_Clements March 2010_0431003_Clements March 2010_064

I think they especially enjoyed showing me their favorite things (and all taking turns taking my photo at the end of the session. Those photos will NOT be appearing here! I do love being BEHIND the camera :) )

1003_Clements March 2010_0851003_Clements March 2010_139

I saw some interesting family traditions – especially interesting was the bit where they all clambered on the car and Mr C drove the car forward. Apparently this happens a lot and i had no reason to panic and close my eyes in fear! :)

Enjoy these sneak peeks Family C – looking forward to showing you the rest!

how does a mad scientist go?

February 1st, 2010 | Families, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

I met up with these gorgeous guys yesterday in their local park…

1001_Kaye January 2010_022FB-BLOG

I mentioned to their mum that her baby daughter may find herself with a little bit of a problem when she grows up and wants to start dating – i.e., her protective brothers! It was so amazing to see how much these boys doted on heir little sister, and how they take care of her spontaneously, without having to be asked/told!

1001_Kaye January 2010_036FB-BLOG

I was also struck by how well behaved they were, again, no running around like a lunatic, we just hung out, and they listened to everything I said (can we bottle this and market it maybe?)

1001_Kaye January 2010_080FB-BLOG

1001_Kaye January 2010_063FB-BLOG

The session wasnt without action of course – we had the wet paint incident where all the benches in the park had been painted brown but the ‘wet paint’ sign had blown off the first row of benches, and mummy sat down on one of them….no, I didnt get a photo of that :) Nor did i get  photo of the loopy dog who escaped his owner and bounded towards Baby M (who was as cool as a cucumber and totally unfazed by the incident)

1001_Kaye January 2010_144FB-BLOG
Little Baby M was a total star for the whole session actually- she woke up from  a nap a couple of minutes after i arrived, totally refreshed and ready to perform! Mum & boys made it so easy for me, entertaining her with bizarre animal/people noises (“how does a mad scientist go?” – thats a new one!)
1001_Kaye January 2010_093FB-BLOG It was great seeing you all, hope you enjoy the sneak peeks, cant wait to show you the full set next week!…..

Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air…

January 24th, 2010 | Beach, Children, Families, Portraiture, Raanana Portrait Photographer, Sarah Raanan

So, my first beach session in Israel! I was so excited for this one, lots of fun stuff planned (too much actually and not enough time!)

I went down to the beach to check out the area a few hours before we were due to meet. I was greeted by what looked like fog, only it was 23℃ outside, so why on earth would there be fog!? Anyway, never mind that, how on earth was i meant to get my images of the children frolicking on the beach with a thick mist surrounding the whole beach area! I grabbed some poor, innocent bystander next to me and ask ed him what on earth it was, what it thought it was doing appearing on the day i had a shoot scheduled, and when it was planning on disappearing! This very kind man assured me that it was some kind of weird mist from the sea  & that it would all be cleared up as soon as the sun was out for a few hours.

Thankfully he was spot on, and by the time we got down to the beach, the weather was just great! The kids were really fabulous – we spent 2 hours on the beach and they only really collapsed at sunset :) And look what we got….

You really managed to capture the natural smiles on these little ones!

Do you also do albums? With scrap-booking framing like in the ‘cartwheels’ picture above?

Surprise for daddy!

January 21st, 2010 | Children, Portraiture

This session was very special! It was my first booking in Israel and it was also a surprise for the daddy’s birthday. I don’t think i have ever come across two such gorgeous, cooperative children!

0911_Temerlies November 2009_002

I am so used to running around a park/back garden/studio, chasing after the kids to get my shots. These two just stayed still and did everything I ask of them. Totally threw me.

I asked their mummy what the secret is and she promised that she’s going to let me know ;)

I found these great ‘iced cookies’ in the shape of letters & numbers, and i bought the numbers 4 & 0 (daddy’s age, secret’s out now). Turns out there was no cookie, just icing….

0911_Temerlies November 2009_066

Thought mum was going to kill me but she was very cool about the whole extreme food coloring and sugar rush situation…

Thanks guys for a fantastic start to my career here in Israel.
