Melt <3 Melt <3 Melt <3

Meet the newest little miracle on my blog. This pretty little bundle of joy arrived in the world just 7 days ago (6 days in the photos!). It’s so obvious and yet always so mircaulous when that faceless bump in mama’s tummy suddenly transforms into this living, breathing little miracle, complete with fingers, toes, ears, lips…

Little Miss ‘A’ just melted my heart, and i’ll bet she’ll melt yours too <3

A big thank you to her special mummy for driving over an hour in morning traffic behind slow trucks to make it to our session! It was worth it<3

“my heart my soul my pride my joy my boy my everything”

I was so thrilled when my dear friend Sabrina contacted me about booking a ‘baby plan’ package of maternity, newborn and family portraits. People often ask me why they would bring their newborns for a photo session; why not wait until they are sitting up and are a bit more interesting? This is such a common  mistake! They will only be newborns for such a short amount of time and you want to capture that fleeting moment in their lives! Newborns must be photographed within with the first 2 weeks of life, and preferably within the first week. At this stage, they are usually still very small and sleepy and will usually still be curling up in that adorable fetal position. Of course you can always record these moments for yourself too, but you should also consider the difference in hiring a professional photographer who will produce professional artistic portraits that you can treasure.

Just look at these images of precious little Levi. It took a long time to get each shot, and everything had to be just right, including switching off the A/C so the room was nice and toasty! I will often take 20 minutes, maybe more, just to get one shot, especially if baby needs to feed in between or messes a blanket which then needs to be changed. Sessions can take anything up to 3 hours and during that time we will attempt about 5 different poses. But  look at the results that you get to treasure forever!

“A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure, a messenger of peace and love…”

“A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure, a messenger of peace and love, a resting place for innocence on earth, a link between angels and men” – Martin Farquhar Tupper

My sister in law bought a gift voucher from me last year for her very good friend in Tel Aviv who had just had a baby. Fast forward one year and finally we were meeting up for our portrait session.

I was really looking forward to meeting their new baby, and for the novelty of a session with just mummy, daddy & baby! I cant remember the last time that happened!

And here she is, baby E..

She had such a fetish for these red sunglasses!!

I SWEAR she knew how cool she looked!…

We didn’t have long before poor baby E was just so tired out and ready for her morning nap so we had to move fast. That’s the beauty of a one-child session though! We still managed to capture so many beautiful moments and expressions

“Where’s your nose?” This party trick never gets old…

Their first family portrait – hope to see them again for their next one! :)

Winding down. Poor E was done by this stage and all she wanted was her dummy & nu nu… This is definitely one of my favorite images from our session.

I loved our walk back to the car. Baby E held her hands out for me to carry her & I got my snuggles in <3
