HI I AM SARAH & I AM AN INTROVERT

“HI I AM SARAH & I AM AN INTROVERT”

“Hi Sarah”…

I am an Introvert. It’s not something I need to fix and it doesn’t mean the same as being shy (though I was shy up until about mid 30’s and would always blush if someone spoke to me/looked at me/or if I had to talk in class.)

Introverts usually recharge by spending time alone. Their energy supplies deplete from being around people for long periods of time, particularly large crowds.
It doesn’t mean I’m anti-social or that I don’t need friends or that I’m a hermit, it just means my batteries get drained & I have to recharge in the only way that works for me.

Extroverts, who gain energy from always being ‘on’ and around other people, often have a hard time understanding it, and take it personally or think that I am odd/rude/miserable.

Here’s a great article answering a few questions on the subject https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/09/01/introvert-myths_n_3569058.html

And with that, I’m off to carry on writing & re-charging
