You know you’re getting old when you are continually saying “where has the week gone?”, “I can’t believe it’s Friday again”. But I’m not ashamed to say it…

This time last week we were on our way to a Bar Mitzvah shabbat on Kibbutz Lavi with two families who we adore and are so very special.

The shabbat could not have been more perfect – it was just pure fun. We laughed, we ate, we drank, we reunited with friends we havent seen in 15-20 years; there were even Bendicks Mints after dinner.

Every little detail had been considered. Every speech was hilarious. The Bar Mitzvah boy was poised and confident and an utter mensch already at the age of 13. Something very special.

I had the task of getting through our wish list of 26 different shots in about 1 1/4 hours. This included perhaps 11 cousins on one side and 18 on the other. Not entirely sure; I did lose count. But the whole experience was hilarious and I was on a high, which I didn’t come down from for many days.

One thing is for sure, this was a weekend of magic and love and storytelling (boy did they tellĀ  their stories…) and so much laughter and trips down memory lane. I can’t often say I enjoyed every minute, but guys, I enjoyed every minute.

It was unforgettable.

Thank you so much for making us a part of your incredible and very special simcha.
