When you’re out and about capturing photos for your image library, don’t forget about turning the camera. What I mean by that is shooting in both horizontal (sideways) and vertical (lengthways) orientations.⠀

I have attached a few simple examples. If I were planning on using this photo of my Bananagrams pieces to create a cover photo for a FB ad or article using a text overlay, I may find the horizontal image to be more useful. But if I wanted to post the image to my Instagram story, the vertical one would work much better for me. And of course, if I wanted to overlay text, but shoot vertical, I could do that too.

So why not get used to quickly snapping both orientations?

Take the photo one way, then turn the camera the other way & take it again. Then add them both to your image library folder on your phone.⠀
